Regent Hong Kong has revealed the first “glimpse” of the hotel’s new rooms ahead of its grand reopening in June.
The property, located on Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, has been undergoing a major refurbishment over the past two years under the stewardship of designer Chi Wing Lo, who is taking on his first hotel project.
Regent Hotels & Resorts, which is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has released images of the Hong Kong property’s new rooms overlooking the iconic harbour. They feature an open plan layout with several rooms offering a sliding door to reveal harbour views from a freestanding bathtub.
Tom Rowntree, vice president of luxury & lifestyle brands for IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “This is a moment - a true moment - for both the Regent brand and also especially for Regent Hong Kong.
“Chi Wing Lo has encapsulated the Regent vision to create something different and unique – a design that can represent Hong Kong and create a sense of serenity, contrast and balance within the city. Regent Hong Kong is a true flagship for the brand.”
The renovated property will offer a range of restaurants including The Steak House, Harbourside buffet experience and a lobby lounge. The existing Yan Toh Heen Michelin-starred restaurant, which has remained open during the renovation, is also to return to its original name of Lai Ching Heen.
