Regent Seven Seas Cruises has partnered with renowned jewellery house Faberge for unique tours and demonstrations of how the famous eggs are created.
Two spotlight sailings will be hosted by top authorities on the Faberge story. The first voyage on 13 June 2023 will be aboard Seven Seas Splendor and the second on new ship Seven Seas Grandeur on 1 July 2024.
On the Splendor voyage, a 10-night sailing through Northern Europe, expert writer and exhibition curator Archduke Dr Géza von Habsburg will present the history of Faberge.
Masterclasses will explain details of Faberge’s unique pieces and what inspired iconic egg objets. Guests will also learn about the house’s signature enamel process.
A similar programme on the Grandeur voyage, a 10-night sailing around the Mediterranean, will be hosted by Sarah Faberge, great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Faberge and director of special projects at the jewellery house.
Guests on both voyages will be able to browse a pop-up Faberge boutique or even commission unique pieces to be created by Faberge London.
There is also an option to book a special pre-cruise land programme in London, which includes a guided visit with jewel handling at the Faberge headquarters, an exclusive shopping experience at Harrods, a meal in Mayfair and a private viewing of the royal portraits in Westminster Abbey.
Creative director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell will welcome guests to Faberge London. She said, “We are delighted to be able to join Regent aboard their beautiful ships and are very much looking forward to showcasing some of the most enthralling details from Faberge’s story.”
“We have put together a captivating programme, which will offer unique behind the scenes insights into the art of bespoke jewellery design, Faberge’s cultured history and royal connections, and also showcase a selection of treasures from our current collections.”
Andrea DeMarco, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, said: “We pride ourselves on offering our guests immersive and culturally enlightening itineraries, as well as enriching onboard programming.
“Guests will uncover the rich culture and history of the revered brand, enjoying an unforgettable, unrivalled experience that they know to expect from Regent.”
Spotlight on Faberge sailings have been created in celebration of the bespoke Journey in Jewels, the first Faberge egg to reside permanently at sea, which will be the highlight of the art collection aboard the new Seven Seas Grandeur.
