Rosewood is to open its first property in Germany next month with the debut of a new hotel in the Bavarian city of Munich.
The luxury hotel group has opened reservations for stays at Rosewood Munch from 29 September when it will become Rosewood’s seventh location in Europe and increase its global portfolio to 32 hotels.
Rosewood Munich will occupy two historic buildings in central Munich, which were formerly the headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria and the aristocratic residence of Palais Neuhaus-Preysing.
The redevelopment of these buildings has included the creation of the hotel’s entrance within the former bank HQ with its preserved vaulted ceilings and frescos.
The hotel will feature 73 rooms as well as 59 suites and five houses, all with bespoke furnishings and views of Munich’s skyline. Interiors have been fashioned by London-based interior design studio Tara Bernerd & Partners.
Food and beverage outlets will include Cuvillies, an “alpine-inspired” brasserie from executive chef Caspar Bork, and Bar Montez offering cocktails and live music.
Rosewood Munich will also be home to the Asaya Spa, which is set over two floors and includes six treatments rooms, an indoor pool and fitness area.
Roland Duerr, managing director of Rosewood Munich, said: “Our sublime setting, within these two magnificent buildings situated in the centre of the city, provides the perfect canvas for Rosewood’s guiding A Sense of Place philosophy. We look forward to contributing to the rich culture and hospitality of this vibrant community.”
Rosewood is continuing to expand across Europe with forthcoming properties in Amsterdam, Salzburg, Rome, Venice, Milan and a second hotel in London due to open in the next two years.
