The lakeside retreat is set to welcome guests this summer after a two-year-long closure for renovations.
Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has announced the opening of its new Rosewood Schloss Fuschl this summer as it continues to expand its global portfolio of 33 properties.
Located on the shores of Lake Fuschl in Salzburg, the 15th-century retreat marks the second Austrian venture for the luxury hotel group following its Vienna debut in 2022. It is officially accepting bookings as it prepares for its launch on 1 July.
Once occupied by European nobility, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl has been transformed into a medieval castle fit for a modern clientele following a two-year-long refurbishment project.
The revamped building now offers 98 guest rooms, including 42 suites and six chalets, all of which have been designed to emulate the landmark’s distinctly alpine style.
Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative spa concept, launches within the hotel with indoor and outdoor pools, eight treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a private lounge area.
Rosewood Schloss Fuschl will also offer ‘world class’ dining options, including culinary treats like Alpine high tea with strudel and schnapps served in a mountain lodge.
Guests can sign up for an ‘alpine herb adventure’ through surrounding forestland, or head to a secretive umbrella shop for a peek into the work of Alois Kirchtag, one of Salzburg’s most celebrated artisans. Meanwhile, entertainment aplenty will be on offer at the Festspielhaus theatre, where some of the country’s finest opera and orchestral performers can be found.
Rosewood Schloss Fuschl will also be open year-round, promising clients an ‘all-season’ alpine experience.
The hotel will be the seventh European property for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, with Amsterdam also coming soon, followed in 2025 by properties in Greece, Venice, Milan, Rome, and a second London hotel, The Chancery Rosewood.
