The Hoxton is offering guests reduced rates when travelling by train as it launches hotels in Brussels and Berlin.
The Good Rate will reduce the room rate by £20, $20 or €20 at each location when customers travel by rail. Bookings should be made at thehoxton.com and guests will be asked to show their train ticket at check-in to receive the discount. The Good Rate can be used in conjunction with existing room offers and promotions, as long as both stays are taken consecutively and booked online.
It’s valid at all properties, including the brand’s latest openings. On Monday (22 May) The Hoxton, Brussels opened its doors, offering 198 rooms. It’s housed in a brutalist-style 22-storey tower building, which was the former European headquarters of IBM. Dining options include the Peruvian-inspired restaurant Cantina Valentina and Tope, the hotel’s Mexican-themed rooftop taqueria and terrace. Later this summer the hotel will host the newest outpost of co-working brand Working From_, which also has bases in London and Chicago.
The 234-room Hoxton, Charlottenburg in west Berlin opened earlier this month, close to the city’s shopping boulevard Ku’damm. It features the north Indian-inspired restaurant House of Tandoor and adjoining The Teahouse, which transitions from a cafe to cocktail bar. Both newcomers were designed by AIME Studios.
The Good Rate initiative has been introduced to tackle the “significant environmental impact of the travel industry” and highlight the difference “small, everyday changes can make”. A spokesperson said: “The Hoxton has always been in the business of being a good neighbour, from donating winter beds to homeless communities through its annual Stay for a Stay campaign to regular volunteering in partner shelters, and this initiative is the natural next step in strengthening its commitment to taking good actions, both locally and globally.”
They continued: “As well as the environmental advantages of train travel, there is a sentimentality and unique sense of adventure that accompanies that hypnotic clickety-clack of the tracks. For those looking for a quick European jaunt, rail is the quickest and most convenient way to journey between many existing and upcoming Hox locations including London, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels.”
