We’re back with our favourite luxury hotels of the week, and as always, it’s a stellar lineup. Our list kicks off in the UK with two beautiful but very different properties in Brighton and London, before moving abroad to check out the latest openings to hit Europe, Africa and South East Asia.

1. No. 124 by GuestHouse, Brighton 

No. 124 by GuestHouse is set to open in Brighton next month, marking the fourth addition to the luxury hospitality group’s fast-growing portfolio. Located on the city’s iconic seafront, the hotel features 32 suites and guest rooms spanning across a trio of restored Georgian and Victorian houses. The initial launch will include a bar serving cocktails and pizzas, along with a terrace, lounge, games room and courtyard.

 

Its Field Trip Spa, which offers treatments like hot sandstone facials and deep-tissue massages in a cave-like setting, and its resident restaurant, Pearly Cow, are due to welcome guests later this year.

2. Pan Pacific London 

Pan Pacific London has unveiled its collection of 42 newly renovated suites, all of which have been designed to cater to the differing needs of its wide-ranging clientele. 

 

Created by Singapore-based design firm FDAT, the upgraded accommodation includes the Devonshire Suite, which offers an ergonomic workspace with both local and European power sockets and in-room gym equipment. Guests staying in this modern suite will also be welcomed by a butler via the Elizabeth Line from Liverpool Street Station. 

 

Meanwhile, the Walbrook Suite has been created for special occasions, offering complimentary champagne, a vinyl record player and monogrammed pillowcases, as well as butler service. Suite guests also have exclusive access to the hotel’s Sensory Wellbeing Floor, which includes a gym, infinity pool, and spa treatment rooms.

3. Layan Life by Anantara, Thailand 

Layan Life by Anantara has made its official debut, bringing a new retreat concept to the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort that aims to transform luxury wellness into a more holistic experience. 

 

Designed by medical doctors and Thai medicinal experts, its programmes cover everything from weight management to de-stressing and range in duration from three to ten days. Guests can expect an ‘elemental journey’ inspired by both modern technology and ancient wisdom of the nation’s traditions. The introduction of the retreat complements the resort’s existing range of wellness offerings, which include spa treatments, yoga and meditation, vitality pools and ice pod therapy.

4. Park Lane Copenhagen, Denmark 

Park Lane Copenhagen opens its doors this December, following an extensive renovation of the historic local hotel. Located in Hellerup, the former 1920s cinema has been reimagined into a boutique property with 69 artistically designed guest rooms. It also has nine suites, all of which include fireplaces, and two spacious apartments that can be rented for long term stays.

 

For dining, chef Yves Le Lay heads up the gourmet restaurant and wine bar, while business travellers are welcome in all of the hotel’s multiple meeting spaces. Park Lane Copenhagen is also a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, having been accepted into the elite collection before it even opened.

5. Jaz Adonia, Zanzibar

Jaz Adonia boasts a private 300-metre-long beach

Opening in October 2024, Jaz Adonia in Zanzibar marks the latest addition to the Egyption hospitality company’s portfolio. The stunning property, which is situated on the tranquil Uroa Bay, features 192 guest rooms and suites, numerous swimming pools, a spa and fitness centre. There’s also a restaurant offering local and international dishes, as well as a poolside bar serving refreshing cocktails. Watersport enthusiasts can play to their heart’s content at the resort’s private beach, while corporate travellers can get down to business in one of the many conference rooms.
