Hotel group Tribe has opened its first UK property in Wood Wharf in London’s Canary Wharf, taking its portfolio to eight hotels.
Tribe was founded in 2017 in Perth, and is part of hospitality company Ennismore, which is a joint venture with Accor.
The 320-room Tribe London Canary Wharf features interiors by Ennismore’s design team, who also worked on the group’s Hoxton hotels.
Tribe London Canary Wharf opened in early August as a “new type of hotel, with design driven spaces, but functional: a place to work, eat, drink, chill and socialise; made for modern travellers, inspired by global travel”.
Rooms are split into three categories, with Tribe Comfort offering a 14 sq m space with city views. Tribe Comfort Atrium are the same size and overlook the hotel’s atrium, while Tribe Comfort XL offer corner rooms overlooking Wood Wharf. The rooms feature king-size beds, floor to ceiling windows and rainfall showers.
Food and beverage options include the 24-hour Grab & Go counter and the 200-cover Feels Like June all-day dining venue.
The hotel also has an oval shaped bar alongside an 80-cover terrace.
Tribe deputy brand chief operating officer Francois Leclerc said: “We are excited to finally bring the bold energy of the Tribe experience to the UK, following the brand’s global success. Our vision for an intelligent, functional, design-driven hotel is a perfect fit for the dynamic Canary Wharf destination.”
Further Tribe openings are planned in Budapest, Belo Horizonte, Warsaw, Riga, Lyon, Bangkok, Singapore and Milan.
New UK sites in the pipeline include Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Chester.
