The awards are returning to the sector after a two-year absence during the pandemic, but will once again be hosted in their much-loved format and venue – a beautiful lunch and glamorous afternoon of celebration at Rosewood London.

More than 150 companies entered this time around, sharing heart warming and incredible stories of how they supported their business, clients and communities as they battled through the pandemic and its catastrophic impact on the travel sector.

Across 13 categories, agents and suppliers told of their resilience, and for the first time, the TTG Luxury Travel Awards asked them to particularly share how they were striving towards being a Smarter Better Fairer business, in line with TTG Media’s own operating purpose. The recipient of the Contribution to Luxury award will also be announced on the day.

In line with past events, a charity has been selected for guests to support as they celebrate achievements and resilience, and this year, it holds a particularly personal note for TTG Media.

In the summer of last year, TTG Luxury’s editor April Hutchinson was diagnosed with breast cancer, and embarked on a round of tests, operations, consultations and hospital visits, as well as courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

“I couldn’t just let cancer affect me and not try and do something to give back, to fundraise for what I saw as a constant source of information and support during my own diagnosis and treatment. Anyone diagnosed with cancer – or any disease – immediately wants to know what’s next, what does all the treatment mean, and I found myself always looking at Breast Cancer Now’s website and leaflets to steer me through – but beyond that, I know they do an incredible amount more,” said Hutchinson.

“Steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care, they’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future and I really experienced this myself, following my diagnosis last year,” she added. “Their ethos is to be a trusted friend you can turn to for caring support when you need it most and as well as that, they’re an expert authority on breast cancer research that is making breakthroughs and driving forward progress.”

By funding almost 340 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research across the UK and Ireland, Breast Cancer Now teams are discovering how to prevent breast cancer, save lives and live well with the disease.

To date, £230 million has been invested in breast cancer research and Breast Cancer Now currently funds around 80 cutting-edge projects worth more than £26 million.

“As a vehicle for change, acting now to make sure anyone affected by breast cancer gets the best possible treatment and care, the charity believes we can change the future of breast cancer and make sure that, by 2050, everyone diagnosed with the disease lives – and is supported to live well with the physical and emotional impacts of the disease,” said Hutchinson. “With more people across the UK living with a diagnosis of breast cancer than ever before, their specialist support services are in high demand. I know we remain in tough times, but I hope as many of our guests as possible will be able to donate what they can at the awards, and afterwards.”

On Friday, raffle tickets will be available for guests, who can win a stay in a suite at Rosewood London with dinner and breakfast, or a £200 Selfridges voucher and Bulgari set, gifted from Silversea, headline partner for the awards this year.

Guests at the event will enjoy a Champagne welcome reception in partnership with Barbados; a two-course lunch; live entertainment; and the awards ceremony – all followed by dessert canapés and a live mixology session with delicious rum cocktails courtesy of Barbados to help winners, finalists, and the luxury sector celebrate in style.
