The new World’s 50 Best Hotels awards programme will recognise the top hotels in the world when it reveals its winners this September.
The ranking and awards programme has been launched by 50 Best, the organisation behind The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and The World’s 50 Best Bars.
The ranking will reflect the best travel experiences collated from 580 voters, including hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and international travellers.
The voters are headed up by nine global academy chairs, including freelance travel writer Lauren Ho, who writes for TTG Luxury, The Telegraph and Conde Nast Traveller. Voters are asked for their seven best hotel experiences across the two-year polling period and all hotels are eligible to receive votes.
Tim Brooke-Webb, managing director of 50 Best, said: “Hospitality is what we’re passionate about and we feel now is the perfect time to shine the spotlight on hotels, particularly as they rebuild after the effects of the pandemic. Our aim with these awards is to define, lead and amplify the conversation on the future of hospitality. We want to create a unifying platform for the world’s best hotels and the amazing individuals behind them but also for travel-loving consumers, helping them to choose the very best places to stay.”
The first list of The World’s 50 Best Hotels will be announced in September, with an awards ceremony and three-day event programme.
