Abercrombie & Kent has appointed chief financial officer Andrew Burrett as its new UK managing director following a global restructuring of its leadership team under a new company ethos, One A&K.
The company has said the changes were made to “connect and synergise its market and brands by establishing new global roles”, connecting Abercrombie & Kent with Crystal.
“A&K and Crystal are both joined at the roots by the same vision and passion, whether on vast expanses of the sea or the wildest frontiers on land,” said group chief executive Cristina Levis.
“The unity of these brands under the ’One A&K’ vision is much more than a business strategy – it’s the natural fusion of our shared dedication to customer-first attention to detail and unparalleled experiences.”
It comes as chief tour operating officer Kerry Golds left the company in late May after more than a decade while sales director James Coughlan announced his departure on 1 June after four years.
As part of the restructuring, US sales vice-president Marett Taylor was promoted to the newly created role of chief sales officer to spearhead the group’s sales approach while chief product officer Fernando Delgado will oversee the management of Abercrombie’s camps lodges as well as Crystal’s marine and hotel operations from 1 September.
Over the past year, the company has also brought in industry veteran Kim Berman as chief legal and people officer as well as former Soho House chief marketing officer Peter Chipchase.
The new hires will join a well-established leadership team made up of the likes of chief destination officer Martin Froggatt, chief of staff Camille Drevillon and chief information officer Fabio Agostini.
Changes, Abercrombie said, have also been made at the regional level, with the appointment, among others, of Amy Weyman and Debra Fox as US and Australasia managing directors.
