Ambassador Cruise Line cancelled two of Ambience’s scheduled port calls as part of its Grand Canada, Greenland and Iceland sailing last week due to Hurricane Fiona’s predicted path towards the southeast of Canada.
The vessel – which arrived in St John’s on 23 September – was tipped to remain in the port until Sunday (25 September) instead of calling at Halifax and Sydney.
In an update on Twitter, the line confirmed guests were able to freely embark and disembark the ship while it waited for the weather to pass.
A spokesperson said: "We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused to our guests on board and we hope they understand this was unavoidable and outside of our control due to the current severe weather conditions."
