Barrhead Travel will move its head office to new premises in Glasgow city centre at the end of this year in time for the peak trading period in January.
The Scottish independent has invested £1 million in its relocation to a grade B heritage-listed building in Glasgow’s St Vincent Place from its previous location in Oswald Street. The new fifth-floor offices will house Barrhead’s sales support team alongside some specialist sales division.
“We’re a people-first business and our new HQ is designed around accommodating a modern approach to office life with hybrid working opportunities, new technology, and accessibility at the heart of it,” said Barrhead president Jacqueline Dobson.
“The new office opening and the renewed demand for the expertise of a travel agent marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Barrhead Travel as our industry moves away from the challenges of the pandemic.
“Our commitment to investing in the high street and investing in our people has never wavered. We plan to continue aiming for sustainable growth over the next few years and are looking forward to, what will hopefully be, the first unrestricted peak trading season after Christmas,” she added.
As Barrhead continues its post-pandemic rebound, it recently announced a new apprenticeship drive with 50 trainee roles to be created across the business.
