Blue Bay Travel has recorded its best-ever revenue and booking figures for a single day in June.
Despite the recent heatwave, the Stoke-on-Trent based operator took 47 bookings and £400,000 revenue on Tuesday (13 June).
Only two other days in June throughout the company’s history have achieved more than 45 bookings, both of which were in June 2019. This makes it Blue Bay’s best June trading day for four years.
The numbers, Blue Bay said, were driven by a Maldives flash sale and a renewed customer focus on short-haul destinations.
Alistair Rowland, chief executive of Blue Bay Travel, said warmer weather tends to yield slower performance for the company, but the recent spate of warmer-than-average temperatures has "galvanised our customers’ desire to travel".
"This, combined with a water-villa Maldives sale, was the perfect combination," he explained.
"What makes Tuesday’s sales performance even more pleasing is the fact that it’s also the best June trading day on record for bookings via our own media channels, which is a testament to the strength of our brand."
