Former P&O Cruises vice-president of sales, distribution and marketing, Alex Delamere-White, has joined Hurtigruten as interim chief commercial officer for its expeditions division following the departure of Steven Taylor.
Delamere-White, who left P&O Cruises in 2021 after more than 12 years with parent Carnival UK to join home developer McCarthy Stone, will oversee Hurtigruten’s expedition division, which has recently been bolstered by the appointment of Nathaniel Sherborne as sales and marketing vice-president for the UK and Nordics.
Hurtigruten chief executive Daniel Skjeldam said bringing “this depth of industry talent” to the business would continue to strengthen Hurtigruten’s position.
Delamere-White’s appointment comes as Hurtigruten expands to Shanghai with a new regional office and grows its Asia-Pacific division with four new hires, including Joe Zoe as China sales director for mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Delamere-White is a TTG 30 Under 30 alumnus, part of the class of 2014. During his more than 12 years with Carnival, he worked across several of its brands, including Princess Cruises, Cunard and P&O Cruises.
Meanwhile, the line’s UK general manager and head of sales Anthony Daniels has been promoted to vice-president, sales and marketing for the UK and emerging markets.
