Swansea-based Cruise Nation has recruited industry veteran Helen Moore from Bolsover Cruise Club as part of an ongoing effort to further enhance service levels across the business.
Moore joined the call centre agency last month after 27 years at Bolsover Cruise Club, which is based near Chesterfield, where she held the role of sales manager.
Speaking to TTG, Moore said she was seeking “a new challenge”, “something to get her teeth into”. “There is more demand for our packages here – people want something different than just a cruise and fly [package],” she explained.
“People can really tailor-make their holidays [at Cruise Nation] and that’s what they want these days.”
Cruise Nation owner Phil Evans confirmed the agency’s previous head of sales and operations role had been split, with Moore becoming the business’s new head of sales.
Moore will run the 12-person Cruise Nation sales team, which will expand to 16 later this month when four homeworkers join the business.
“We did have a head of operations and sales, which did not really work out,” Evans added. “We changed the role so it was specific to sales.”
Cruise Nation has recently introduced a new phone system, which Evans believes will be “far more efficient” than the old one.
“Cruise Nation is a very fast-paced environment, but we need to level up parts our service,” he added. “It’s time to look at everything in the business and use Helen’s experience from the last 27 years and streamline things.
“With the new phone system, we will be far more efficient.”
Evans confirmed Cruise Nation had a “huge number of repeat and new-to-cruise guests”, adding that 46% of customers are new to the agency.
“The first week of January was slower than we all anticipated, but we’re happy with where it is going. We’re trading ahead of 2019,” he added.
