Corporate travel specialist Frosch Ireland has acquired Dublin-based The Travel Broker, the agency set up by Clare Dunne 30 years ago.
The Travel Broker was founded in 1994 by Dunne, who was last year named chief executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA). The agency is a two-time TTG Top 50 agency.
Frosch Ireland, which has its head office in Cork, said the acquisition of The Travel Broker was a “significant milestone”, which would “leverage the strength of both companies”, particularly in leisure travel sectors such as cruise.
Anthony O’Mara, acting chief executive of Frosch Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to welcome The Travel Broker into our family. This acquisition not only extends our market reach but also aligns with our core values and commitment to personal service. Together, we are set to redefine the travel experience for our clients.”
Frosch said the deal would offer The Travel Broker’s clients “unprecedented access to cutting-edge travel management tools and expanded global reach”, including mobile apps and passenger tracking systems.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed and a Frosch spokesperson confirmed that Dunne “will no longer be involved in the business”.
Dunne joined ITAA as chief executive in July 2023 following the retirement of predecessor Pat Dawson. She was previously ITAA’s first female president from 2012 to 2014.
