Princess Cruises’ newest ship, Enchanted Princess, has successfully completed its first sea trials.
The ship, which had been due to launch in June, is currently under construction in Italy.
It completed a series of test manoeuvres before returning to the Fincantieri shipyard for final works.
Enchanted Princess is the line’s fifth of sixth Royal-class ships, sister to Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and Sky Princess
Its name was announced in August 2018, and it had been due to enter the Princess fleet in October 2019.
However, Princess president Jan Swartz in April confirmed the ship would be delayed, with its June naming ceremony in Southampton and maiden voyage cancelled.
Princess has suspended all cruising operations until at least the end of its summer 2020 season owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
It confirmed on Wednesday (8 July) Regal Princess would replace Grand Princess in sailing from Southampton next summer.
