G Adventures will deploy its first custom-built catamaran in the Galapagos Islands this summer.
Reina Silvia Voyager will offer enhanced accommodation options, with 10 cabins split over two decks, including two dedicated solo cabins.
Yves Marceau, global vice president of product at G Adventures, said the addition of the new vessel will allow the firm to cater to the rise in travellers seeking bigger-ticket adventures and more from their holiday time.
"The pandemic has made many of us rethink how we holiday," Marceau added. "We’re seeing a very high demand for those once-in-a-lifetime adventures such as the Galapagos as travellers commit to those trips they’ve long dreamt about.
"The Galapagos has ranked consistently among our top three most popular destinations for British travellers over the past six months as travellers are drawn to the diverse wildlife, biodiversity and landscapes of the archipelago."
Running across the central, east and west islands, the 103-foot Reina Silvia Voyager offers four itineraries, ranging from eight to ten days including Quito and will accommodate up to 16 passengers.
Eight cabins accommodate twin or double stays, with two solo cabins catering to individual travellers. Eight rooms offer private balconies, while all rooms have panoramic windows, private bathrooms, contemporary furnishings, artwork by local naturalist photographers and energy-saving LED lighting.
Common areas will include a third deck with lounge chairs, a covered cocktail bar, a grill station and an outdoor jacuzzi.
An indoor, air-conditioned salon with a video screen will enable visual presentations from specially trained naturalists, who will guide each group’s tour and help guests learn about the wildlife and culture of the Galapagos Islands.
Landings and exploration of the region’s ports and coasts will be accessible thanks to the vessel’s eight onboard kayaks and two zodiacs. A crew of ten, including a dedicated chef and G Adventures chief experience officer, will serve guests daily.
Itineraries include a 10-day Central and East islands aboard the Reina Silvia Voyager sailing from £5,299pp and a 10-day West and Central islands aboard the Reina Silvia Voyager trip from £4,999pp.
