G Adventures has added a swathe of new touring options for the over-40s market, and plans to restore Tibet to its programme as part of a renewed focus on Asia.
The adventure specialist will add new Classic trips for 2025, including African safaris and Central American multi-centres previously available to travellers aged up to 39.
In addition, G plans to bring back its trips to Tibet, and expand its China and South Korean offering citing resurgent demand for travel to Asia.
Yves Marceau, G Adventures’ vice-president of product, said the decision to open its Africa and Central America range to all ages came after G identified demand from older customers looking for more "basic" or "grassroots" trips.
"When we looked at the data, we could clearly see the time is right to open up a set of fast-paced, longer, more basic itineraries to an older crowd looking to see and do as much as they can," Marceau explained.
He continued: "These are longer trips that have been traditionally more popular with younger travellers who typically have less money and more time.
"We certainly have a segment of customers who are growing older, yet still looking for a more ’rugged’ and exploratory style of adventure. These trips are perfect for them."
Tibet returns to G’s line-up for the first time since the pandemic following China’s decision to relax visa rules for a number of countries, while "trending" South Korea now features in G’s Classic range and can be paired with Japan.
Elsewhere, G’s Classic trips in Africa will feature a refurbished fleet of "Lando" overland vehicles, featuring better purified water dispensers, USB charging for each seat, and new camping equipment including upgraded tens, chairs and mattresses.
The operator added the Landos have also been made safer with the addition of "AI units" to improve efficiency and safety.
In Central America, meanwhile, the expansion opens up El Salvador and Hondurus, destinations previously only available through G on its 18-to-thirtysomethings trips.
