Haven is making changes to how it operates its parks in the hope of offering a range of social distanced breaks this summer, starting in July.
The UK holiday parks operator said its new "Haven Hideaways" would be made available via high street agents at reduced prices from Friday (15 May).
Agents will be able to offer clients breaks at all of Haven’s UK parks, subject to any further government restrictions.
“We have thousands of guests who have already had breaks cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Gerard Tempest, Haven’s guest and proposition director.
“We look forward to reopening our parks as soon as government advice allows, and as soon as it is safe to do so. [We] are busy making changes to the way we operate our parks to ensure we can comply with the latest requirements.
"With social distancing requirements likely to remain in place, we don’t expect to be able to provide the full Haven experience to the number of guests we would normally welcome.
"However, we can still provide the chance for families to escape to the British coast and enjoy a breath of fresh air at the seaside on a Haven Hideaway break.”
Breaks will be available from July for the rest of the 2020 season. Guests who already have breaks booked during this period will not be affected "at this stage", Haven has said.
"We still hope to offer these guests the facilities and activities they have booked, but should this not be possible, we will be contacting these guests within 28 days of their break to confirm what facilities will be available."
Affected guests will be able accept any changes and take the holiday as planned; take a credit for a future break; or cancel and receive a full refund as part of Haven’s coronavirus guarantee.
New guests, said Haven, will have the option to book Haven Hideaway breaks at reduced prices from Friday (15 May) via their high street travel agent.
And as further government restrictions are lifted, and Haven is able to expand its offering, guests will be able to upgrade to include access to facilities as they reopen.
“We hope later in the season, we will be able to provide the full range of Haven facilities to all of our guests," said Tempest.
"But while we still need to maintain strict social distancing due to coronavirus, we are unable to open areas where there could be mass gatherings.
“For guests who will be holidaying with us, we will be making a range of changes to our check-in process and limiting the number of guests staying on park at any time to ensure we can protect our guests, owners and team as best as possible.”
