Hays Travel has appointed Cherie Richards to a newly-created head of business development role, aimed at building recruitment across the group.
Richards joined Hays Travel’s homeworking division in 2022, reporting to Tanya Cooper, head of Personal Travel Consultants (PTC).
In her expanded role, Richards will report directly to chief operating officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston, and work closely with Natasha Marson, head of the Hays Travel Independence Group, and Steven Reilly, head of Hays’ Explorer franchise. She will also continue to collaborate with the PTC teams.
Since joining Hays, Richards has been responsible for recruiting self-employed PTCs and PTC Leads supported members, achieving 90% growth in recruitment to the division to date.
Woodall-Johnston said: “Since joining us just a year ago, Cherie has been a great asset to Hays Travel and her impact on our Personal Travel Consultant division has been remarkable. Cherie has decades of experience in our sector and is highly thought of, particularly among independent agents.
"We are delighted to appoint her to this leadership role, where she will support strategic growth across our PTC, independence group and franchise areas, building on the excellent work that the division heads are already achieving.”
