New Icelandic airline Play is recruiting 100 cabin crew and 50 pilots as it plans to double its fleet.
The airline launched flights to Stansted in June and said it was preparing to offer new destinations from summer 2022 with a doubling of its workforce.
Play will operate six aircraft from next spring and plans to add another four in 2023, “which will require more hiring”.
The airline’s chief executive Birgir Jonsson said: “We have deliberately been careful in all our plans due to the current situation in the world, but as local tourism is showing signs of health and travel restrictions are being rolled back, we believe it is time to begin hiring for our growth next summer.
“To say the least, I am truly excited to welcome new members to our team and we are also proud to be able to provide all these new jobs. We have exciting times ahead of us, and not only that, but it is going to be fun too.”
