Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has hailed the "hard work and dedication" of its latest crop of apprentices after more than 30 graduated upon completing the airline and operator’s apprenticeship scheme.
The graduation ceremony at The Queens Hotel in Leeds was attended by 33 apprentices from engineering, finance, ground operations, IT, marketing and operations control.
Chief executive Steve Heapy presented each of the apprentices with their certificates in front of their families, training providers, colleagues and mentors. It was the second graduation ceremony to be held by the airline and tour operator.
Miriam D’souli, HR Director at Jet2 and Jet2holidays, said: “The apprentices should be extremely proud of their achievements, with the graduation ceremony celebrating the many years of hard work and dedication demonstrated by everyone.
“We would like to congratulate the apprentices on their achievements and look forward to seeing them continue their professional careers at Jet2 and Jet2holidays."
D’souli continued: “Watching our apprentices develop over the course of their apprenticeships has been a pleasure, and I am confident that they each have a successful future ahead of them.
“Our apprentices are critical to the growth and success of our business and that is why we are continuing to grow our apprenticeship programme next year.”
D’souli gave a special mention to Connor Ward for winning the Yorkshire and Humber Apprenticeship Awards 2023 and qualifying as a finalist in the National Apprenticeship Awards.
The graduation ceremony comes days after Jet2holidays launched a new initiative to support independent travel agencies with their talent development by providing up to £5,000 in cash to help fund apprentices’ salaries.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays currently has more than 150 apprentices enrolled across almost 35 different apprenticeship standards throughout the business.
The business are continuing to expand its apprenticeship scheme in 2024.
