Travel Village Group managing director John Warr is set to leave the company after nearly two years working across its cruise, homeworking and retail divisions.
Former Wendy Wu Tours sales director Warr joined the Blackpool-based family business in October 2021 after seven years with the escorted touring specialist.
He leaves, the group said, following "a sustained period of growth both in sales and revenue", with Travel Village Group chief executive Phil Nuttall praising Warr for his efforts to drive up the group’s profile.
"John has been instrumental in driving and shaping our business and our team post-Covid," said Nuttall, who runs the business with his wife, co-owner and director Paula Nuttall.
"His dedication, enthusiasm, drive and genuine care for our family business has been there for all to see. I feel we have both benefited enormously from working together and are stronger and wiser for the experience."
Paula added: “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to John for his commitment and passion for our family business and we both wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
Warr said his time with the group would remain a "cherished" career memory. "This is not only due to our remarkable joint accomplishments within a brief span, but also because of the talented colleagues and operator partners across both the cruise and land sector whom I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with," said Warr.
Warr, who spent more than 10 years with Thomas Cook earlier in his career, added he intended to pursue a managing director or senior sales director role.
