London will gain a new route to Norway’s fjords next month.
Wideroe’s twice-weekly Stansted-Bergen flights will take off from 26 March. The airline will operate the route on Fridays and Sundays using a 110-seat Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. One-way fares lead in from £59pp.
Bergen’s traditional Bryggen harbour district is one of Europe’s oldest ports and is recognised as a Unesco World Heritage site. The city is Norway’s second largest after Oslo, and is the gateway to the Norwegian fjords.
Stansted aviation director Simon Gorrighan said the route would be important to leisure travellers and business customers serving the energy industry. Flights will depart Stansted at 6.40pm on Fridays and 11.30am on Sundays.
