Newmarket Holidays has seen an increase in customers looking to take advantage of "late" bookings in 2022.
The operator said the removal of passenger locator forms (PLF) and clearer travel regulations has led to an increase in customers paying their balances and booking either their first or second holiday of the year.
Head of trade sales Richard Forde said it was evident customer confidence has increased over the past few months as they look to "make up for lost time".
"This will be the first restriction-free summer that we’ve experienced in two years, so it’s understandable why customers are keen to take advantage of ’late’ and ’on-trend’ offers," he added.
In the previous two weeks, 70% of the operator’s bookings were made for holidays departing in 2022 – 50% of which departing in the next 16 weeks.
"As we emerge from the winter, we think many customers are now in full holiday planning mode for the rest of the year," Forde continued.
"Our UK programme is still proving to be strong, continuing the trend from 2021. However, Italy remains the most searched destination on our website, with a demand for the late summer and autumn."
Portugal, Croatia, Norway, and the Greek Isles are among the operator’s most popular destinations for customers and agents.
