Budget transatlantic carrier Norse Atlantic Airways has confirmed it will operate to six US destinations from the UK this coming winter.
Norse will fly from Gatwick to New York JFK, Orlando, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Washington and Boston. It has not put San Francisco, currently operating three times a week, on sale for next winter.
However, a Norse spokesperson said: “We have not released the full winter schedule yet, that is just what is out for sale at the moment.”
Seats are now bookable until March 2024. Last month, Norse’s fleet of 15 aircraft operated with a 60% passenger load factor, up 10 points from February.
The carrier also gained a UK route licence in March, meaning it no longer has to originate its US flights in Oslo before continuing from Gatwick. A Paris-New York route was also inaugurated.
The fledgling airline, which began flights last June, has predicted it will be profitable this year.
Bjorn Tore Larsen, Norse chief executive, said: “We are very pleased with the continued momentum of forward bookings across our network following the launch of our full summer schedule in February which saw multiple sales records broken on consecutive days.”
