Palladium Hotel Group has unveiled a new global sustainability initiative focused around three core pillars in a bid to "make the world a better place".
The Palladium Cares strategy will enhance the group’s role in creating positive change within three core areas: people, community and planet.
The central focus of the new initiative – people – will see multiple initiatives integrated to enhance the wellbeing of Palladium’s some 13,000 employees and their families.
The brand has identified 98 new initiatives to support the goal, which encompass various areas such as leisure activities, wellness programmes, accommodation and employee transfers.
Meanwhile, the second focus area – community– will revolve around local communities, specifically through two projects in Europe and the Americas, which will provide support and make a positive impact in the destinations where Palladium operates.
In the Americas, Palladium has begun establishing training centres in collaboration with local public entities and in Europe, a new "four causes to take action" project will be carried out in four phases over the course of the year.
With the introduction of Palladium Cares, the company is further enhancing its efforts to support the planet – its third and final pillar – on a global scale.
Key areas of action within this plan include the reduction of plastic, sustainable use of natural resources such as water, proper waste management and reduction, and the protection of biodiversity.
Jesus Sobrino, chief executive of Palladium Hotel Group, said: "Palladium Cares was born with the aim of consolidating the company’s historic commitment to CSR, giving continuity to existing projects, strengthening them and promoting new ones.
"We focus, in the first place, on our internal team, to continue to have a positive impact, in parallel, on our communities and the surroundings."
