Tour Partner Group has appointed former Great Rail Journeys chief executive Peter Liney as non-executive chairman.
He brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience within the travel sector and will be responsible for working with Paul Maine, the group’s chief executive, and steering the firm’s strategy amid a period of growth.
Liney was chief of Great Rail Journeys for nine years, where he led the company’s expansion into the US and Australia.
Prior to that, he was chief executive of STA Travel for five years, and began his career at British Airways where he spent 11 years in a range of strategic and sales-related roles. He also currently serves as a non-executive director at APT Travel Group.
Tour Partner Group has also appointed Alex Graves as chief financial officer, who will be leading the group’s finance, governance and reporting functions, and Roxy Shakerifar as group people director, where she will lead the recruitment, retention and people development strategy across the firm worldwide.
The three join Tour Partner Group as the brand reports a period of fast growth, after the pandemic created a large backlog in demand for global travel and an increasing focus by consumers on experiences.
Maine said: "All of us here at Tour Partner Group are delighted to welcome Alex, Roxy and Peter to the team.
"As the group continues its upward momentum, I am thrilled to be working alongside each of them, along with my other Executive Team members, to deliver continued growth and expansion."
