Cruise Club UK’s general manager has told TTG the agency could soon put a second exclusive world cruise charter on sale, just few days after the first 371-day sailing was announced.
The Prestwich-based agency, now part of Australia’s Ignite Travel Group, launched the Explorations by Norwegian sailing earlier this month.
The world voyage onboard the 348-cabin Oceania Regatta will depart from Civitavecchia (Rome) in September 2026 and visiting six continents. The cruise and its segments are being sold exclusively by Cruise Club in the UK market.
Cruise Club said the full itinerary “blends the best elements of ocean, river, premium and expedition cruise to create a unique and new opportunity for customers like never before”.
General manager Paul Edge said efforts are now being made to confirm a second ship – either from a Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brand or elsewhere – for another exclusive charter. “Ignite is looking to get ship number two sorted,” said Edge. “You just have to have the creativity to go out there and do it.”
Edge revealed the process to source and confirm Oceania Regatta took two years. Ignite Travel Group founder Randall Deer, who is now Cruise Club UK managing director, led the push to find a cruise operator willing to charter a ship.
Edge admitted it was likely there would be “a bit of jealously” among other UK agencies who cannot sell the Explorations by Norwegian itinerary, but he stressed “anyone” could do it.
Deer added: “Cruising is one of the most convenient and best value ways to see the world. To deliver on this vision, we needed the perfect ship.
“One small enough to go where big ships can’t, big enough to have enough dining and leisure options for guests onboard for longer stays to enjoy, and premium enough to deliver all of this in luxurious style.”
Individual cruise segments of the Explorations by Norwegian sailing are also available to book through Cruise Club UK.
Edge believes the “best value” bookings will be for 30- to 40-night segments. “If you wanted to do something similar with another line, the price would be double,” he said.
Prices for the 47-night Australian Odyssey segment, departing from Singapore with return flights included, start from £6,299pp.
A full 371-night itinerary starts from £49,990pp, while an 311-night ex-UK cruise leads in from £39,990pp. Edge said 15 Cruise Club staff had been fully trained to sell Explorations by Norwegian.
Cruise Club UK was acquired by Ignite after a 50/50 deal between Deer and parent company Flight Centre Travel Group was agreed in October.
