The boss of the Port of Dover has claimed the checkpoint has "done everything we can" to prevent further travel delays during the upcoming bank holiday and half-term break.
It comes after some coach passengers faced delays of up to 17 hours to board ferries to France during the Easter period earlier this year.
But speaking to the BBC, the port’s chief executive Doug Bannister said it has since taken steps to mitigate the impact post-Brexit border checks have recently had on traffic attempting to cross the Channel.
It is thought up to 5,500 cars and 350 coaches will arrive at the port on Friday (26 May).
Traffic control measures have already been put in place by local authorities to manage the flow of lorries travelling to the port.
