More than 300 agents from across the UK attended Pata’s flagship training event, Taste of Pata, on Thursday (15 September) – a record turnout for the association.
Agent guests were able to network with 24 suppliers from across the Pacific Asia region and learn more about their destinations while enjoying regional food and drink at Huckster in London.
A feature of the event was a training and recruitment stand, as well as more than 30 prize giveaways. There was also representation from new suppliers exhibiting for the first time.
These included the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board. “We really wanted to showcase that Vietnam is back and open again with no restrictions to welcome tourists," said a spokesperson. "Visitor numbers are growing again for the destination, which is really great to see.”
The event began with a minute’s silence in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and a toast to His Majesty King Charles III, led by Pata chair UK and Ireland Chris Crampton.
Crampton paid tribute to the Queen’s service and commitment to the UK and the Commonwealth, including 19 Asia Pacific member states.
The Queen visited more than 120 countries during her extensive travels, and spent large periods in the Commonwealth – most recently during her Golden Jubilee year when she visited Australia and New Zealand.
