Ryanair has launched what it claims is its "biggest-ever" winter schedule featuring more than 20 new UK regional routes, growing its network to 440 in total.
New winter sun, ski and city break options include Liverpool-Rome, Birmingham-Venice, Newcastle-Barcelona, Bournemouth-Lanzarote and Manchester-Podgorica. Other additions include new flights to Lapland, Sicily, Scandinavia and the Asturias. Fares lead in from £29.99pp.
Launching the programme on Tuesday (30 August), Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary took another swipe at Heathrow, criticising the hub for its ongoing capacity cap.
He also reiterated Ryanair’s stance on sales through OTAs, whom O’Leary accused of "anti-consumer price-gouging" and warned were contravening the budget carrier’s T&Cs by selling Ryanair flights. He said Ryanair would once again call on the Competition and Markets Authority to intervene.
"This winter Ryanair is offering its UK customers lower fares and more certainty with their winter travel plans, as it operates a full schedule of more than 3,000 daily flights with many new routes," said O’Leary.
