Ryanair will launch flights from Newcastle to Morocco’s Marrakech this winter.
The budget carrier will operate twice-weekly services on the Newcastle-Marrakech route starting 27 October.
The additional route adds to Ryanair’s presence at Newcastle, which already includes flights to 18 short-haul destinations.
Leon McQuaid, Newcastle airport’s director of aviation development, said: “Marrakech has fast become one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers who are attracted to the city’s stunning ancient architecture, bustling souk markets and amazing cuisine.
“This investment underlines Ryanair’s confidence in our airport and their commitment to providing even more choice for passengers.”
Ryanair first opened a base at Newcastle in 2022 and has been building up its services from the airport since then.
