Travel Counsellors is reintroducing its Gold Weekends for its agents, with a choice of four luxury getaways for the highest sellers.
Gold Weekends were an annual feature pre-pandemic, when only two trips were offered, but a strong sales period since Christmas has seen Travel Counsellors double the number of rewards.
January 2022 saw Travel Counsellors’ biggest booking month post Covid-19 and its second most successful month in its 27-year history, with new group bookings of more than £71.2 million.
Around 140 Gold Travel Counsellors will enjoy the four getaways, which include a trip to the Maldives, staying at the new Oblu Xperience Ailafushi. Others are a Virgin Voyages Mediterranean cruise or a stay at W Ibiza or Dubai’s Caesars Palace.
Travel Counsellors is also reintroducing its exclusive Gold Dinner on 27 February – the first since 2020. It will be at London’s Biltmore Mayfair Hotel, attended by more than 100 Gold winners, plus directors, support team colleagues and sponsors.
Gold status is an achievement open to all Travel Counsellors. The company had 189 Gold Travel Counsellors before the pandemic, with 28 achieving the status since February 2020.
Karen Thornton was one who achieved Gold status during the pandemic. She joined Travel Counsellors in March 2020.
She said: “Achieving gold is the absolute pinnacle of my career. I still can’t believe I’ve done it, given that I started three weeks before the first lockdown in March 2020, but I kept my head and used my time wisely, learning how to market my business with the support of the business and the training available.”
Travel Counsellors will also relaunch its Going for Gold training programme this year, aimed at helping its agents achieve goals.
