TTG Media is gearing up for 2017 with a new editor and first group editor, among several other new senior appointments as it celebrates its third year as an independent business.
News editor Sophie Griffiths is to become editor in January. Sophie, who has spearheaded the growth in the TTG LGBT initiative as well as consistently breaking exclusive news from across travel, joined TTG as a news reporter in 2010. As editor, she will have responsibility for both the weekly magazine and ttgmedia.com.
Current editor Pippa Jacks will be promoted to the newly created position of group editor, 10 years after starting out on work experience at TTG. Pippa, who was recently shortlisted for the Editor of the Year award by the British Society of Magazine Editors, takes up her new position in January, enabling her to steer content more strategically across TTG Media.
The announcements come in the week that Anwar Sohawon joins TTG Media as sales manager Sohawon was previously sales manager at Travel Weekly and has five years’ experience in travel trade media sales.
Meanwhile, Abigail Healy is being promoted to features editor, following the upcoming departure of Katherine Lawrey on November 17.
Managing director Daniel Pearce said: “Almost three years to the day since the launch of TTG Media as an independent business, I am thrilled to be able to announce the expansion of our team.
“As we enter 2017, TTG Media will be in a strong position to deliver more impactful content and more successful commercial campaigns than ever,” he added. “Look out for more announcements to come!”
