Flight VS16 from Orlando to Gatwick took off on Tuesday afternoon, fuelled by a potentially revolutionary biofuel made up in part of recycled waste industrial gasses.
LanzaTech has been working with Virgin Atlantic since 2011 to develop the new fuel, which could have wide-reaching implications for aviation.
