Your Co-op Travel will open its relocated Lydney store with a new store design, complete with interactive map and digital screens, following on from revealing the new look at its Sutton Coldfield branch.
The new look has been developed in partnership with interior and design agency Twelve Studio and will be rolled out across the rest of the Your Co-op Travel retail network.
Based in the town’s Hylton Court Shopping Centre, the team at the branch – which has been relocated from Newerne Street – will continue to be led by Leah Creed, opening six days a week Monday-Saturday.
An official opening event will be held on 8 November.
Your Co-op Travel said the new concept would deliver a "modernised holiday booking experience" with the interactive map serving as a source of holiday inspiration and the digital screens detailing the branch’s latest offers and "unique" packages.
The team have access to more than 300 suppliers through Co-op Holidays, said Your Co-op Travel.
The team will continue to support their local community through the Your Co-op Travel Community Fund, which offers £500 grants to help fund projects making a difference in the area.
Lydney’s current local charity and community partners include Gloucestershire Young Carers, Gloucestershire Deaf Association and Forest Pulse.
Your Co-op Travel has so far raised more than £30,000 for Gloucestershire Young Carers helping fund its work supporting more than 1,000 young people caring for ill or disabled family members.
Forest Pulse, meanwhile, provides out-of-school support and activities with children and young people with disabilities, while Gloucestershire Deaf Association aims offers practical and emotional support to children, young people and adults in the area who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Sara Dunham, chief officer for travel and leisure for Midcounties Co-operative, said: “The opening of our new branch in Lydney marks an exciting next step for our branch team, members and customers, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the local community through our doors.
"Not only does our new space include more digital and interactive features to inspire adventures across the globe, but with every new booking, we’re helping to do good together by giving back to the local community through our charity and community partners."
Twelve Studios added in a statement: "The idea behind the new design was to ensure [Co-op] members, customers and staff are at the heart of the in-branch experience and that the physical store wasn’t just a place to book trips.
"It was designed to make interactions easy and inspire customers, whereby you could get information through digital tools or chat with the branch team in person, making it much more than just a travel agency."
Visitors to the branch on opening day will have the chance to win £100 towards a holiday through a Spin to Win wheel game, and tuck into a branded cupcake. Customers who visit and receive a quote during the branch’s first week of trading will receive a Your Co-op Travel tote bag filled with holiday essentials.
For every passenger that travels with Your Co-op Travel, £1 is donated to its charity partner, Go Beyond, and sustainability partner, Ecologi, which operates Gold Standard and Verified Carbon Standard carbon reduction projects around the world.
