With the arrival of summer, Brazil opens its doors to tourists from around the world, offering a rich combination of natural beauty, vibrant culture, and unique experiences. This period is traditionally one of the busiest for international tourism in the country, and recent figures indicate that the summer of 2024/2025 promises to be exceptional.

An Impressive Recovery

Between 2018 and 2024, excluding the pandemic-affected years (2020, 2021, and 2022), Brazil welcomed 11,725,129 international tourists during the summer alone. This number underscores the season’s importance for the economy and the country’s promotion as a global destination.

In 2024, the outlook is even more optimistic. According to data from Forward Keys, as of December 12, 2024, international flight ticket sales to Brazil for the summer period (December 21, 2024, to March 20, 2025) increased by 41.1% compared to the same period the previous year. This growth reflects not only a recovery in the tourism sector, but also a growing interest in Brazil as a summer destination.

Key Source Markets

The data also highlights the main countries sending tourists to Brazil this summer, with significant growth across various regions:

• Chile: +95.5%
• Argentina: +70.9%
• Peru: +54.1%
• Spain: +33.7%
• Colombia: +32.3%
• Portugal: +28.7%
• France: +24.5%
• United States: +21.4%
• Uruguay: +20.5%
• Italy: +19.1%
• United Kingdom: +18.4%
• Germany: +17.2%
• Netherlands: +13.3%
• Switzerland: +11.6%

Summer Attractions in Brazil

Brazilian summer is synonymous with paradisiacal beaches, cultural celebrations, and ideal weather for exploring iconic destinations. Brazil’s Northeast, with its breathtaking beaches, and Rio de Janeiro, home to the iconic New Year’s Eve celebration in Copacabana, top the list of international tourists’ preferences. Additionally, cities like Florianópolis, Salvador, and Jericoacoara continue to attract visitors seeking unforgettable experiences.

The Amazon — offering freshwater beaches like the beautiful Alter do Chão — and the Pantanal, are also drawing the attention of ecotourists.
