Part of the brand’s wider Cenizaro Cares programme, this new activation encourages guests to dedicate a small portion of their suitcase to essential items which, once dropped off at the resort, will be gifted to local beneficiaries. From non-perishable food to educational supplies, books and sports equipment, small contributions can significantly impact the lives of those less fortunate, supporting welfare and education. ‘Pack for Hope’ is a key component of Cenizaro’s broader commitment to regenerative tourism, spanning across their properties in the Maldives, Zanzibar, Douz, Mauritius, Tunis, and Bintan.

“At Cenizaro Hotels and Resorts, we believe that travel can be a force for good. With our ‘Pack for Hope’ program, we are empowering our guests to make a tangible difference in the lives of our local communities. By bringing essential items with them, our guests become active participants in fostering a more sustainable and compassionate world,” says Alexys Tjhia, Director of Corporate Sustainability, Cenizaro Hotels and Resorts.

Each resort is partnered with local schools and orphanages, who will benefit from the donated supplies. From gifting books to build out libraries - ensuring global thoughts, ideas, and expressions accessible to students of all ages – to stationery and sporting equipment, all items will be put to immediate use by the local children. Each of the resort teams also contribute to local food and clothing banks which donations can be gifted to, meaning non-perishable foods and clothing items which guests may no longer wear are also of help. These items can be dropped off by guests at the respective resort upon arrival.

By ensuring contributions are aligned with the needs of locals, guests can play a pivotal role in helping Cenizaro deliver effective support that aligns with the needs of the local communities. This targeted approach allows resorts to directly addresses the challenges and priorities unique to their neighbourhood, leading to a more meaningful and lasting positive impact.
