With a remit to support the travel trade as the face of the brand, Smith will be tasked with managing all trade enquiries and maintaining trade awareness of Blue Diamond’s property portfolio and the destinations in which they are located. Commencing her role on 11 September 2024, Smith will also be responsible for boosting agent engagement via Royalton Rewards and key face to face events, educating travel agents on each individual brand’s product both online and in person, as well as the organisation of agent FAM visits, research groups, workshops and sales missions.

Smith brings more than 25 years of industry experience to this role having previously worked across various sectors within travel. Starting her career in PR at Thomas Cook, she later expanded her expertise in sales, marketing, and business development for hotels in both the UK and the Caribbean. After returning to Thomas Cook to work in its tour operator and online divisions, she launched a successful representation company, consulting on key account management, marketing, PR, and business strategies.

Commenting on her appointment, Smith says: “I am delighted to be joining the Blue Diamond Resorts family and continuing the great work that the team have accomplished. The Caribbean was my first love when I started out in travel and so the Royalton and Planet Hollywood brands will be a privilege to promote and sell.

“I’m looking forward to getting out on the road to meet all of our fabulous agent friends, promoting all things Royalton and Planet Hollywood.”

Todd Kirlik, Senior Director, Trade Sales & Business Development, Blue Diamond Resorts also comments: “Louisa joins the UK team at a busy and truly exciting time for Blue Diamond Resorts. Our brands are expanding, and we have lots to bring to the trade in the coming months so her skills and experience will make a valuable addition. We are committed to supporting the UK and Irish trade and having Louisa now in the driving seat will ensure we continue to strengthen our agent relationships, supporting them in their quest to sell our properties.”
