JG Travel Group has expanded its programme of breaks to Scotland, to including a brand new tour and extra departure dates on two existing tours.
The newly launched six-day ‘Voyage of the Vikings’ is a Scottish adventure to the heart of the North Sea, exploring the Shetland Islands and their Viking heritage. Shetland was one of the first landfalls for the seafaring Norse and their lasting imprint on the islands is still evident today.
Highlights of the tour include a day exploring the second largest island of Yell and the most northernly inhabited island of Unst, which has the world’s largest concentration of Viking longhouses.
There is also a full day exploring the main island of Shetland with visits to Scalloway, Jarlshof, Sumburgh & Lerwick, with each place having their own Viking history to tell. Priced from £949pp departing 19 September and 3 October 2024.
The group has doubled the number of departures for its ‘Great Scottish Highland Railways’ coach breaks, going from four dates originally which have now sold out to eight. New dates now on sale are 25 August, 15 and 19 September and 3 October. Promising breathtaking views and striking mountain scenery, this holiday showcases the very best of the Highlands through picturesque railway journeys.
Highlights include travelling on the Kyle Railway Line from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, a trip to Aviemore to board the Strathspey Steam Railway through the Cairngorms National Park and a steam-hauled voyage aboard the iconic Jacobite Steam Train on the West Highland Line between Fort William and Mallaig, crossing the famous 100ft-high Glenfinnan Viaduct which is used in the Harry Potter films. Priced from £719pp.
Also seeing more capacity added due to demand is the ‘Hebridean Adventure’ 8-day tour by air. Initially two dates were put on sale but three more have been added, 10 August, 6 September and 5 October 2024. This tour to the untouched Outer Hebrides is a never-to-be-forgotten experience that takes in the stunning Scottish scenery, including the isles of Skye, Lewis, Barra and more. Priced from £1449pp.
All tours can be booked by agents through Just Go! Holidays or National Holidays.
