Located in the Western region of the United States, Nevada is defined by contrasts and offers visitors a rich history and diverse culture. Known for its arid desert landscapes, alluring casinos, and vibrant nightlife, ‘The Silver State’ is also home to a variety of pristine natural wonders including the Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Tahoe and Great Basin National Park, as well as quirky ghost towns, eccentric exhibitions and attractions, and tasty Basque cuisine. Nevada is also well known for its annual events calendar, including the World Human Powered Speed Challenge, Great Basin Astronomy Festival, Burning Man and the Las Vegas Grand Prix which returns to the city in November.
Rafael Villanueva, CEO at Travel Nevada, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome this new service with Norse Atlantic. Our state has so much to offer; not only do we have exciting new developments and attractions on the horizon, but our existing ‘Only in Nevada’ offerings, such as the Great Basin National Park, Goldwell Open Air Museum and Lake Tahoe, firmly cement the state as a must-visit destination for culture seekers, foodies and outdoor enthusiasts. We’re looking forward to welcoming a new wave of travellers to discover what makes Nevada so special.”
In October, Nevada will celebrate its 160th anniversary. The anniversary marks the state’s official statehood and celebrates its history with annual celebrations taking place in Carson City. Home of the “official” Nevada Day Parade since 1938, the event pays homage to Nevada’s heritage and the official founding of the state on 31 October, 1864.
