Exodus Adventure Travels is celebrating one year as a certified B Corp by providing an update on its commitment to positive change.
Kasia Morgan, Head of Sustainability, Exodus Adventure Travels said: "We are proud to be celebrating a year of being a certified B Corp. Our certification was a great catalyst to refresh and re-focus our sustainability goals and Foundation’s focus, in pursuit of our B Corp commitments.
“Over the last few years, and through collaboration with a number of pioneering partners, we’ve seen firsthand the inextricable link between thriving nature and thriving communities – you can’t have one without the other. Our three-year plan sets out how we strive to play a part in contributing to both, through how we design and run our trips, how we give through our foundation, and how we operate as a business.”
Since receiving the certification, Exodus has reworked its sustainability strategy, helping the company move forward as a B Corporation. As part of this ‘Thriving Nature, Thriving People’ plan, Exodus has partnered with the Blue Marine Foundation to protect and restore 7,000 hectares of vital marine ecosystems globally. The partnership has seen Exodus invest in locally run projects that support ocean-based restoration and blue carbon removal.
An ongoing partnership with Rewilding Apennines has seen 100 square metres of land rewilded in the Italian Apennines for every guest who travels with Exodus, contributing to the rewilding of over 650 hectares since 2022. Exodus’ new itinerary, ‘Italian Apennines: Walks & Wildlife’, gives travellers the chance to learn about the benefits that the rewilding efforts have seen on the area.
In 2025, every Exodus departure up Mount Kilimanjaro will employ a graduate of Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation’s Mountain Lioness scholarship. The scholarship enhances the employment opportunities for female mountain guides, fulfilling its commitment of supporting 30 graduates - with a ‘Becoming Even Better’ program providing further training for the women this year.
