Palma continues to establish itself as one of Europe’s top year-round destinations following successful efforts during 2024 to counteract seasonality.
Looking ahead to 2025, the city anticipates further growth with exciting new openings and expanded flight routes that will enhance its appeal and accessibility.
The city’s hotel sector will welcome notable new additions in 2025. Among them is the Vestige Miramar, a stunning eight-bedroom mansion in Palma’s historic centre. Opening in January 2025, the luxury property offers panoramic sea views, seamlessly blending modern design with preserved historic features.
Palma’s culinary landscape also continues to flourish, with Andreu Genestra’s Aromata restaurant recently opening within Hotel HM Palma Blanc. Known for its “earth-to-table” philosophy, Aromata incorporates fresh ingredients from its own urban garden, creating an intimate and unforgettable dining experience.
This year has seen Palma’s popularity with Britons blossoming, so it comes as no surprise that TUI will introduce a new direct flight route from Southampton Airport to Palma Airport. The new flight route will launch on 27th May 2025 and will operate weekly on Tuesdays, running through until 20th September 2025.
Much of Palma’s success in reducing seasonality is owed to its strategic focus on cultural tourism. In 2025, art enthusiasts can look forward to exhibitions by Peter Halley and National Prize winner and Turner Prize finalist Ángela de la Cruz at the Casal Solleric. Meanwhile, music lovers can enjoy a standout performance by the Film Symphony Orchestra at the Palma Auditorium in March 2025. Featuring 70 musicians, the orchestra will perform iconic scores from blockbuster films such as La La Land and Jaws, promising an unforgettable cultural experience.
With its thriving cultural scene, enhanced accessibility, and commitment to year-round tourism, Palma de Mallorca is poised to build on its successes in 2025, further solidifying its status as one of Europe’s most dynamic, year-round destinations.
