Regent Santa Monica Beach opens in Los Angeles

Regent Santa Monica Beach, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has reintroduced the Regent name to Los Angeles, becoming the brand’s first flagship property within the Americas.

Located on one of the country’s most celebrated beaches near the Santa Monica Pier, the resort blends timeless elegance with modern luxury. Some 167 spacious guestrooms and suites, many with panoramic ocean views, feature spa-like bathrooms and a complimentary Refreshment Gallery with beverages and snacks curated to guest preference ahead of their arrival.

Regent Experience Managers are also on hand as a single, designated point of contact to assist in curating all aspects of the guest’s stay, from pre-arrival to departure.

James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina created signature restaurant Orla, blending flavours of the Mediterranean with the freshness of Californian ingredients; as well as Orla Bar in the lobby.

Azure Bar serves poolside cuisine and creative cocktails; and the Sweet July Cafe from restaurateur and acclaimed author Ayesha Curry offers a menu inspired by her love for local farmer’s markets and her Jamaican heritage.

An elevated pool deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean features plush cabanas and stylish sunbeds. Guests can also enjoy a massage, facial or body treatment at the Guerlain Wellness Spa, complete with pre- and post- relaxation lounges and champagne room, sauna and steam room and a plunge pool.

Design direction was helmed by Chantell Walsh of Strategic Hotels & Resorts, alongside two design firms. AvroKo’s San Francisco studio looked to luxury fashion and the beauty of the ocean to design bright and airy public spaces, with details such as boat sails, yachts and sandy textures.

Wimberly Interiors designed the guestrooms with serene, Pacific-hued interiors, and the spa with a coastal California aesthetic and Mediterranean elegance.

Regent Santa Monica Beach joins Regent Hong Kong, Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, Regent Shanghai on the Bund, and Regent Phu Quoc in exemplifying a new chapter for luxury hospitality for Regent Hotels & Resorts.
