Rixos opens new flagship hotel in Tersane district in Istanbul

Nestled in the beautiful Golden Horn estuary of the Bosphorous river, the new flagship Rixos property, which was inaugurated with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is part of a development transforming the historic Ottoman naval shipyards into the beating heart of Istanbul once again.  

Situated 41km from Istanbul airport, the hotel will be served by public transport including a local ferry line, while guests also have access to a local helipad. 

The Golden Horn, a symbol of abundance and prosperity since the Byzantine era, served as an excellent natural harbour that made Istanbul a key trade centre in the Mediterranean and Near East during the Middle Ages. Rixos Tersane Istanbul will honour this heritage by placing culture, art, and sports at the very centre of its offerings. 

Inspired by its location, the hotel has curated a special art collection under the theme of cultural sustainability. This collection will feature contemporary artworks by both local and international artists, accompanied by a catalogue and digital archive. The hotel will also host numerous local and international events in its expansive and majestic venues, the Tersane Ballroom and the Tersane Istanbul Event Hall.
