Amadeus River Cruises will add a new 164-passenger ship to its fleet next summer, which it says will “remain reliably operational even in seasonably fluctuating water levels”.
Amadeus Amara’s sustainable design is “further enhanced by an efficient hull shape, a fuel-saving autopilot and solar panel on the sun deck, all of which contribute to environmentally-friendly river cruising”, the Austrian family-owned line added.
It also said Amara’s 1.3 metre-draft would ensure “lower fuel consumption but also ensure reliable operation even in fluctuating water levels”.
Amara’s 12 suites feature walk-out balconies and reading nooks, while the 70 standard cabins mainly offer drop-down panoramic windows and bathrooms.
The ship’s maiden voyage is scheduled for early July on the Danube. Prices for the vessel’s Danube Rhapsody departures on 30 August, 6 September and 13 September 2025 start from £2,399pp.
The six-night Magic of the Advent on the Danube cruise from Nuremberg to Vienna with calls in Regensburg, Passau, Melk and Emmersdorf, departing on 6 December 2025, is priced from £1,499pp.
Fares include return flights or Eurostar travel from the UK, overseas transfers and the seven-night cruise itself, as well as all meals, wine and beer with lunch and dinner, excursions and onboard entertainment, plus WiFi and port fees.
“Amadeus Amara is not only a technical masterpiece but also a true gem for our guests,” said Martina Luftner, Amadeus River Cruises founder and managing director. “The elegant interior design and indoor pool at the stern will be among the new comfort highlights."
