Cunard ship Queen Elizabeth will undergo a “significant” refit in the new year to get it ready for its maiden Caribbean and Alaska seasons.
The 2,000-passenger vessel, which launched in 2010, will go into dry dock from 25 February to 13 March in Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore. The revamp includes “refreshed signature interiors and exteriors designed to capture both tranquillity and vibrancy”.
The Commodore Club, Queens Room, Panorama Pool Club, Garden Lounge and The Pavilion will be overhauled, connecting “guests to the ocean while providing the perfect space to relax or enjoy al fresco dining”.
As first reported in TTG, some features that debuted on Queen Anne in May this year will now be rolled out across the rest of the fleet, starting with Queen Elizabeth.
Wellness venue The Pavillion Wellness Café will be added to Queen Elizabeth while its passengers will soon be able to join Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea programme, first seen on Queen Anne. The wellness programme offers three-day packages tailored to relaxation, energy restoration or recovery.
Elsewhere, the Grills suite experience will be “elevated to new heights”, the line said.
Passengers staying in Grills suites will experience “enhanced interiors and exterior, featuring sumptuous furnishings, sophisticated dealing, and thoughtful design to deliver the ultimate in comfort and style”.
The Grills dining experience will also be improved with a menu crafted exclusively for Grills guests by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.
Queen Elizabeth will operate Alaska sailings from Seattle in June before repositioning to Miami and offering Caribbean voyages from 16 October.
The Caribbean season will start with a 12-night round-trip sailing from the Florida port with calls into Barbados and Saint Lucia.
Cunard president Katie McAlister said: “As Queen Elizabeth prepares for her highly anticipated debut seasons in the Caribbean from Miami and Alaska from Seattle, this transformation marks an exciting new chapter for Cunard.
“Inspired by the beauty of these extraordinary destinations, the ship’s revitalisation will seamlessly blend timeless elegance with modern comforts, creating an unparalleled guest experience."
She added: “We’re especially excited to introduce the exclusive Gala Evening menu, crafted by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux. This remarkable addition will elevate the Grills dining experience to even greater heights, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it.”
