Jet2 expands city break network with two new Budapest routes
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will expand its city break network this coming winter with two new seasonal services to Budapest, and has also added two new cities to its Discover More range.
East Midlands and Newcastle International are set to gain twice-weekly services to the Hungarian capital, starting later this year.
Jet2 will operate a new East Midlands-Budapest route on Mondays and Fridays from 10 October 2025 to 27 April 2026.
Services from Newcastle International will also operate on Mondays and Fridays, getting under way on 9 October 2025 and operating through to 26 April 2026.
Customers from six of Jet2’s 12 UK bases can now access Jet2CityBreaks to Budapest, the other four being Birmingham, Glasgow (Christmas only), Leeds Bradford and Manchester.
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said the move capitalised on Budapest’s "soaring popularity", which he pinned on its "fantastic" culture, history, nightlife, cuisine and architecture.
“In response to the demand that we are seeing from customers and independent travel agents, we are absolutely delighted to be giving holidaymakers across the East Midlands and north-east the chance to experience
everything Budapest has to offer," he added.
Jet2 has also added Rome and Athens to its Discover More portfolio, meaning customers can now access add-ons and excursions like city tours when visiting.
Its half-day tour of Greece’s capital visits the Panathenaic Stadium, the birthplace of the Olympics, the city’s National Gardens, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike and the Acropolis.
Rome tours, meanwhile, take in the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the city’s Roman Forum.
Discover More packages to Athens are available through Jet2CityBreaks from Birmingham airport (winter 2024/25, summer 2025 and summer 2026), Stansted airport (summer 2025 and summer 2026) and Manchester airport (year-round).
Rome packages are also available through Jet2CityBreaks year-round from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle International.
